About the Role

SCRUM MASTER needed at my well established Fintech STARTUP in Dallas only. Hybrid 3 - 4 times a week in office. $90k - $130k base plus bonus.

Key Responsibilities:

• Agile Planning and Estimation Techniques:
o Lead Agile planning sessions tailored for SaaS development projects, including sprint planning, backlog grooming, and task breakdown.
o Utilize Agile estimation techniques to accurately forecast timelines, resources, and potential challenges specific to SaaS environments.

• Scrum Artifacts Management:
o Oversee and manage Scrum artifacts relevant to SaaS projects such as Product Backlog, Sprint Backlog, and Increment.
o Ensure artifacts are maintained and updated, reflecting current project status and priorities.

• Sprint Planning and Task Breakdown:
o Facilitate sprint planning meetings with a focus on SaaS-specific tasks and deliverables.
o Breakdown complex features and user stories into actionable tasks to enable efficient development and delivery.

• Agile Metrics and Reporting:
o Monitor and report on Agile metrics specific to SaaS development, such as feature velocity, deployment frequency, and user feedback integration.
o Use data-driven insights to guide improvements and adapt strategies.

• Backlog Grooming and Prioritization:
o Conduct backlog grooming sessions to keep the backlog organized and prioritize features and technical improvements relevant to SaaS products.
o Work closely with stakeholders to ensure alignment of SaaS priorities with business objectives.

• Scaling Agile Frameworks Knowledge:
o Apply knowledge of Agile scaling frameworks (e.g., SAFe, LeSS) to support the management of larger and more complex SaaS development projects.

• Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) Practices:
o Collaborate with DevOps teams to integrate CI/CD practices into SaaS development workflows, ensuring seamless and frequent releases.

• Advanced Scrum Tools Proficiency:
o Utilize advanced Scrum tools and software to manage SaaS development projects effectively, tracking progress and metrics.

• Risk Management and Mitigation:
o Identify and manage risks specific to SaaS development, including security vulnerabilities, compliance issues, and integration challenges.
o Develop and implement strategies to mitigate these risks.

• Technical Debt Assessment:
o Assess and manage technical debt within SaaS products, ensuring it is addressed and minimized to maintain high code quality and performance.
• Organizational and Time Management:
o Manage multiple SaaS development projects concurrently with high levels of organization and efficiency.

• Strategic Thinking and Vision:
o Contribute to the strategic planning and vision-setting for SaaS products, ensuring alignment with broader business goals and market demands.


Key Skill Set:
• Strong understanding of SaaS development lifecycle and DevOps principles to optimize workflow and enhance product delivery.
• Proficiency in Agile scaling frameworks and practices, tailored to SaaS environments.
• Experience with data-driven decision-making and basic analytics to drive continuous improvement in SaaS products.
• High emotional intelligence to navigate and support diverse, distributed SaaS development teams.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or equivalent certification.
• Proven experience as a Scrum Master in a SaaS development environment, with a track record of successful project delivery.
• Experience with Agile tools such as Jira, Trello, or similar, and familiarity with SaaS-specific tools.
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices in the context of SaaS development.
